Poplar Grove Winery Rose, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Slick, fresh, delightful.
Made from Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Merlot. The pressed juice was left of the skins for four hours, then cold settled and cool fermented to preserve the bright fruit flavours.
Sweet raspberries and honey, wild strawberries and vanilla, rhubarb and dried herbs dominate the nose. It's a dry pale pink with a perception of sweetness from red berries, which are supported by citrus and fine spice flavours. Slick on the tongue, its is fresh and balanced and a delight to drink. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen

Sperling 'Speritz' Pet Nat, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
This delicate and gently fizzy Moscato is made from Perle of Csaba planted in 1934 on the organic and biodynamic Sperling family estate in East Kelowna. "Pet Nat" is a naturally fermented bubbly that starts with wild yeast in vat, then is transferred to bottles to finish fermenting whereby capturing the remaining bubbles. No fining, nor filtering is done.
Image differs from actual bottle
It's a cloudy wine with notes of chamomile tea, orange blossoms, starfruit, bruised peaches and warm honey. It's dry with flavours of crushed stone, peach pit and tealeaf; the finish has a sourdough character and there's a prickle on the tongue.

Sperling Vineyards "Speritz' Pet Nat, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Housed in a clear glass (reusable) bottle with a string tied label, this slightly effervescent fizz with low alcohol and no added sulphites, is a petillant-naturel (pet nat) ancestral method sparkling and made from very old Perle D'Csaba vines. Pale straw in colour, and murky from lack of filtration, it offers aromas of yellow fruits, croissants and dusty chamomile. The palate is lean insipid and sharply lemony, with a light prickle on the tongue. ©copyright 2019 Daenna Van Mulligen

Sperling Vineyards 'Amber' Pinot Gris, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Natural, fresh, textural.
Nothing added, nothing removed. This cloudy, organic wine is one of Sperling's portfolio's Vision Series. It's a orange wine, unfiltered and unfined, with no added sulphites. A hazy pink it expresses notes of orange pekoe tea, bruised strawberries, cedar and bergamot. The palate echoes the nose, it is textural, and bright with a bold earthy undertone.

Sperling Vineyards 'Amber' Pinot Gris, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Nothing added, nothing removed. This cloudy and organic wine is one of Sperling's portfolio's Vision Series. It's a orange wine with aromas of orange pekoe tea and charred lemon peel with bruised apricots. The palate echoes the nose; tart fruit, orange peel, tealeaf and cedar flavours lead to a dry and phenolic finish. Not for everyone, but no wine is--if you are looking to try your first "natural wine" here you go. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen
