Quails' Gate Estate Winery 'Rosemary's Block' Chardonnay, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, generous, lively.
Named for the Stewart family matriarch, the Rosemary’s Block wine was harvested from the Upper Boucherie Bench in West Kelowna. After being fermented in oak and going through a full malolactic secondary fermentation, it was aged on its lees in new and old French barrels and stirred every three weeks to add richness and complexity.
The wine is golden in colour and has a lively lemony nose layered with yellow apples, brown spice and nuts. Generous yet fresh boasting toast and citrus, and yellow and white tree fruit flavours.

Quails' Gate Estate Winery 'Rosemary's Block' Chardonnay, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
The grapes were whole-cluster pressed and fermented in new and old French oak barrels for 11 months. It went through full malolactic fermentation and was left on its lees with regular battonage, which shows in its creamy demeanor. It has honeysuckle and whipped pineapples, golden apples and roasted nuts with a hint of matchstick. The palate is grilled baguette and creme brulee, lemon meringue and spice. A detailed and complex Chardy, which is both stylish and delicious.

Quails' Gate Estate Winery 'The Connemara', Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Complex, complete, outstanding.
Tasted bottle No.1404
This is a third vintage for Quails' Gate's Connemara; a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc; very limited quantities, 10 barrels, were made. It is named for the top portion of the home block vineyard, given by Irish immigrant Richard Stewart Sr. - the grandfather of the current proprietors.
A significantly weighty numbered bottle is home to this muscular blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
A succulent wine with incredible posture and aromas of dusty plums, black currents, licorice, mocha, vanilla and dry earth. It is smooth and yet vibrantly juicy; it is also complete, balanced and drinking extremely well now, but it is also a wine to age for up to a decade.

Quails' Gate Estate Winery Syrah 'The Boswell', Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Succulent, velvety, complete.
A limited number of bottles of this estate-grown Syrah were produced - it's one of Quails' Gate's 25th Anniversary Edition label wines, sold only via the winery.
Syrah has a unique expression in the Okanagan, it shows its savoury side here for sure. The Boswell is equally so but with some time has evolved into this ripe and chocolaty version with white pepper and cashew, smoked meat, iodine, wild herbs and espresso woven with black raspberry and black cherry aromas. Succulent and smooth, woven and complex, it is rich, powerful and lengthy.
