50th Parallel Pinot Noir Rose, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, tangy, dry
50th Parallel is a 61-acre estate located in Lake Country, just beyond Kelowna; their viticulture continues to focus on Pinot Noir and Alsatian varieties.
Salmon-hued with golden glints and aromas of sour cherry, tangerine, red currents, mixed spice and cedar chips, this pink rolls into a palate that is dry and tangy with good structure and lively acid. Its weight and tannins will hold up to meats and grilled salmon but it will also work with seafood, mild cheeses, ratatouille, savoury summer tarts and pasta salads.

This enthusiastic peachy-leaning pink is made from estate Pinot Noir and shows vibrant cherries, strawberry, peach fuzz and vanilla, kumquats and honeysuckle notes. Dry, with tart red fruit, rhubarb, tealeaf and citrus peel it has solid tannic structure and a tangy finish.

Argento Estate Reserve Organic Malbec, Mendoza Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Toasted, fragrant, value.

If you're looking for a good value dinner red or BBQ wine, this will do in a pinch.
Blackberry and black raspberry, vanilla, chocolate, cola spices, violets, and hints of wild herbs appear on the nose. In the mouth it is slick and fresh, with similar cola flavours alongside plenty of purple fruits. Supple, and approachable, a wine for a crowd.

Readers rated this wine:
Toasted, fragrant, value.

If you're looking for a meaty wine of good value for a protein-dense grilled dinner, this could be your go-to. Appealing notes of raspberry and vanilla, blueberries and crushed flowers, chocolate and roasted red bell peppers. The palate is notably leaner than the nose leads you to believe; charred spices, toasted oak and espresso flavours lead the charge. It's a simple wine with a hollowness on the mid-palate, but it will do in a pinch.
