New, fresh, approachable.
This charmat method sparkler is made from estate Pinot Noir (10%) and Chardonnay (90%) from Black Sage and Golden Mile vineyards. It is fresh and approachable with a good fizz; aromas of tree fruits and honey, delicate citrus and orchard blossoms lead to a tangy palate with a kiss of sweetness. Mission Hill Family Estate Winery Reserve Shiraz, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Supple, fragrant, fresh.
Made from estate Black Sage bench Shiraz with 3% Viognier blended in, this fragrant and juicy red delivers notes of blackberry and mulberry, violets, baking spices and dark chocolate. Fresh and supple it has salty/umami undertones, black fruit, dark chocolate and peppery spice flavours. A bit hot at 14.4% but it's not distracting. Overall, good structure and balance with a savoury finish. During physical-distancing due to COVID-19 I shared this with neighbours, who ended up ordering a case. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen

Mission Hill Family Estates 'Terroir Collection ~ No.16 Southern Cross' Sauvignon Blanc, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Golden, rich, complex.
The Mission Hill Family Estates Terroir Collection is a reflection of proprietor Anthony Von Mandl's vision from some 30 years ago. His goal, to create a line of wines, which showcase the unique micro-climates of the Okanagan Valley. Each label features a photographic image of the site where the wine was conceived.
Here, you can expect rich golden fruits, honey, marzipan, wild grasses and botanicals with smoky and leesy undertones. The palate is similarly laden with ripe golden fruit, honey and tangerine with a pinch of spice, which culminates in caramel on the finish. Excellent structure and complexity with an attractive weight. *Be sure not to serve too cold.

Mission Hill Family Estates 'Terroir Collection ~ No.29 Bluebird Passage' Viognier, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Potent, exotic, precise.

His goal, to create a line of wines, which showcase the unique micro-climates of the Okanagan Valley. Each label features a photographic image of the site where the wine was conceived.
This Viognier hails from semi-arid west Osoyoos and is entirely unoaked. Aromas of musk melon and guava, lemon curds and pomelo, honeysuckle and wild herbs morph into a juicy, stylish and pristine palate with zesty and white peppery finish. Postured and precise. ©copyright 2019 Daenna Van Mulligen
