Five Vineyards by Mission Hill, Chardonnay, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Value, nectarous, creamy.
The value conscious 5 Vineyards labels have evolved over the years and I think the look they have now is pretty spot on. Creamed honey and buttery caramels, vanilla, pineapple, baking spiced and sugared nut aromas lead to a palate that is toasty and spiced, nutty and laden with sweet golden fruits. There is some residual here for sure, but you'll find value in this nectarous bottle. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen

Martin's Lane Naramata Ranch Pinot Noir, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Impressive, slick, expressive.
One of the Von Mandl Family Estates (VMF) portfolio, which includes in part, Mission Hill, CedarCreek, and Checkmate The Martin's Lane is named for Anthony Von Mandl's father, Dr. Martin Von Mandl.
An enticing combination of sweet and spicy, with notes of violets and rainforest floor, botanical, raspberry and blueberries, with cherry jam spiked with star anise. Supple with expressive fruits, it is vibrant with toasted oak undertones. The finish is lengthy with cedar and spice flavours encompassed by sweet tannins.

Made from Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Franc (aged in stainless and 25% neutral oak) this stunning blushing rose gold pink offers up notes of pink grapefruit and cranberries, honey orange blossoms and tealeaf. Like the nose the palate is citrusy; tangy and bone dry with hints of red apple skins and crunchy red plums. The finish is pristine and mouthwatering.
A delicious pairing with jalapeno potato chips. but also salmon, tapas or classic southern France ratatouille. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen

Mission Hill 'Border Vista Vineyard' Syrah, Okangan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Profound, complex, finessed.
Mission Hill's Terroir Collection are wines made from single sites. This one from the warm East Osoyoos Border Vista Vineyard. A warm and dry 2017 vintage produced small but intensely flavoured berries, which shows in this exceptional Syrah. Expect expressive blackberry, blueberry and cherry fruit aromas woven with dark chocolate, adobo, white pepper, espresso and vague notes of licorice and grilling meat. The palate is also savoury, meaty and toasted with black/purple fruits, mocha and spice. It is a profound and powerful wine with finesse and balance. Lengthy and complex, it is a wonderful addition to any cellar. Drinking well now, but it will continue to evolve over the next 3-5 years. Pairs great with Gone Crackers Olive Oil & Cracked Pepper ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen

Mission Hill 'Brigadier's Bluff' Rose, Okangan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Juicy, blushing, dry
Made from Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah this statuesque pink comes from east Osoyoos. It is a winery only release. The palest blushing pink with silvery glints it smells of fresh cranberries, rhubarb and cherry licorice, honey and fuzzy peaches. It's clean and juicy, light and refreshing with a dry and tangy finish.
As a side note, it's great with jalapeno potato chips.
