Yalumba 'Organic' Viognier, South Australia
Readers rated this wine:
Zesty, organic, balanced.

At 170 years old, Yalumba is the oldest family owned winery in Australia, home to one of the largest viticulture nurseries and the only winery cooperage in the country.
Yalumba was also the first to commercially plant Viognier in the Barossa Valley in 1980 when there was only an estimated 11-14 hectares in the world, primarily in Northern Rhone Valley. For many wine lovers, Yalumba's Viogniers were their first taste of the variety.
It's a popular wine The organic version suggests smoked peaches, creme brulee, candied ginger, lime and yellow apples on the nose. A fresh palate shows nice weight and balance and plenty of lime leaf and lemon peel flavours.
A delicious partner to spicy fish tacos or exotic Moroccan dishes.

Yalumba 'Samuel's Collection' Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia
Readers rated this wine:
Plush, supple, lengthy.

Australia's oldest family-owned winery (now at 170 years) makes a fantastic selection of wines, including this Barossa Valley Shiraz under a new label called Samuel's Collection. 2017 was a cool year in the Barossa with a longer hang time for the grapes. The result is a plush nose of ripe blueberries, mulberry and rose petals, leather and muddled earth. It's nice woven albeit a bit brooding still; peppery spices, cocoa and wild berry flavours dominate. Supple and lengthy.

Yalumba 'Sanctum' Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra, South Australia
Readers rated this wine:
Fleshy, supple, seductive.

Australia's oldest family-owned winery (now more than 170 years old) makes a fantastic selection of wines, just one of those is this SanctumCabernet from the Menzies Vineyard in the heart of the Coonawarra, famous for its terra rossa soils over limestone; and notably one of the best places to grown Cabernet in the world.
The nose is a seductive parlay of licorice and black raspberry, pipe tobacco, Turkish coffee, licorice and eucalyptus.
It has a supple palate with generous fleshy fruit fruit and plenty of balanced freshness; the finish trails mineral and dark mocha. Subtly powerful and delightfully woven.
Exceptional.

Yalumba 'The Strapper' GSM Barossa Valley Australia
Readers rated this wine:
Opulent, supple, chocolaty.
GSM is the acronym for Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro (AKA Mourvedre).
The Strapper is an opulent character, kirsch and menthol, mocha and sarsaparilla, with undertones of mulberry tea. The palate is spicy and chocolaty and minty-fresh. Great balance, a supple demeanor, and fine textural tannins to add substance.

Yalumba 'The Tri-Centenary' Grenache, Basrossa Valley, Australia
Readers rated this wine:
Juicy, radiant, profound.
Hailing from Yalumba's 820 gnarled old bush vines planted in 1889, which produce extremely low yield but high concentration of flavour this outstanding wine is history in every bottle.
Classic Grenache expressiveness; juicy blueberry, raspberry and salted licorice alongside peppery spices, which are echoed on the palate. The fruit here shines, it's radiant profound and pristine.
A wine to behold.
