Generous, persistent, elegant.
Stag's Hollow's was established 27 years ago, in the sub-GI of Okanagan Falls. The original owners retired and sold last year. It's comprised of estate sites: Amalia, Stag's Hollow and the Shuttleworth Creek Vineyards. The Renaissance series is the premium label and this Syrah (co-fermented with a splash of Viognier) is entirely from Amalia.
Plums and concord grapes, vanilla and a potpourri of violets and cedar chips are layered with licorice and brown spices. The entry is supple; it's a fleshy wine with generous fruit, espresso, pepper and black chocolate flavours. Elegant, beautifully balanced and persistent.

Savoury, concentrated, peppery.
Unfined and unfiltered; a Syrah from Stag's Hollow's Okanagan Falls Amelia vineyard.
It shows the Okanagan's predilection toward savoury; it has a spicy and peppery character with bacon fat, blood, toasted brown spices leather and sunbaked earth, with black berries and roasted plums at the core. The palate is as meaty at the nose and has a generous supple weight, impressive concentration and long mocha and spicy finish.

Savoury, concentrated, substance.
From the Amalia Vineyard on the West Bench in Osoyoos this concentrated Syrah (co-fermented with 5% desiccated) Viognier) pitches out succulent aromas of spiced black cherries, black raspberry, dried herbs and flowers, cola, dark chocolate, espresso and cracked black pepper aromas. The palate matches the intensity and meatiness of the nose; inky but fresh it's a Syrah with substance, finesse and length.

Quaffer, fresh, fun.
I should be forgiven for immediately assuming this wine would be sweet--there's something about the label, or its colour that conjures that palate response. But in reality, it just off-dry, and charming. The 14% Muscat added in can be thanked for its lovely orange blossom character.
It is simply put, fun and fresh. Stone fruit, citrus and floral aromas turn into a crisp and juicy palate with a pristine character. A perfect patio quaffer.
Pairs Great with Gone Crackers Roasted Shallot & Herb

Citrus, stone fruits and grass clippings lead to a juicy and lively palate with a mouthwatering finish.
A perfect patio quaffer of serve with holiday dinners including white meats and candied yams.
Pairs Great with Gone Crackers Roasted Shallot & Herb
