Stag's Hollow Sauvignon Blanc, Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Delightful, expressive, delicious.
Delightfully expressive, this savvy offers piquant notes of nettle and gooseberry alongside guava and peaches, green apples, honey and elderflower branch. It is tangy and buoyant, with a clean palate that shows significant peachy flavours. It has a kiss of sweetness and is definitely more fruity than verdant. Delicious and persistent; one glass, nay one bottle will not be enough.

Stag's Hollow Sauvignon Blanc, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Tangy, citrusy, angular.
This vintage, the Stag's Hollow Savvy seems significantly leaner (if memory serves) than last vintage. The acidity really dominates here; depending on your palate, you'll be pleased or not.
It is dominated by gooseberry, nettle and crunchy green apples; it has undertones of mineral and smoke. The palate follows closely with tangy citrusy flavours, it has whack of acidity. A leaner style of Savvy, less fruit more angular.

Stag's Hollow Simply Noir, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Bright, berries, charming.
This cultural proprietary blend of Gamay, Pinot, Dolcetto and Zweigelt comes from vineyards in the sub-GI of Okanagan Falls (designated in 2018) where Stag's Hollow is located and Keremeos in the Similkameen Valley.
Stag's Hollow describes this as a bistro wine and I wholeheartedly agree; it is refreshing, food friendly and charming.
A nose of raspberry, cherry and strawberry, star anise, vanilla and cedar leads to a juicy light-medium bodied palate. Slick, with good levity, it has flavours of fine peppery spices and tealeaf trailing on the finish.
Congrats to Stag's Hollow, which celebrates 25 years in 2020!

Pair: white meats, oily fish, hearty salads, vegetable tarts and cheeses.

High-toned summer berries, vanilla soaked cherries, coffee, cardamom, cinnamon and celery salt aromas lead to a juicy yet savoury palate. That juicy berry/salted character comes through on the palate. It has good bones and wonderful acidity; the finish trails cocoa and star anise.
Pair: white meats, oily fish, hearty salads, vegetable tarts and cheeses.

Stag's Hollow Syrah Rose, Okanagan Valley
Readers rated this wine:
Fruity, dry, juicy.
Made entirely from Syrah grown in the Amalia Vineyards in Osoyoos, the 2020 was hand-harvested, sorted, destemmed and pressed immediately; minimizing maceration time as much as possible. The pale juice was transferred into a stainless steel tank, where it was cold settled for 48 hours, and then racked, warmed and inoculated with a selected yeast strain. The ferment was kept cool (under 13C) in order to maximize aromatic expression.
This light peachy-pink version has a distinct fruit punch nose; fuzzy peaches, candied orange peel and Rainier cherries along with a whiff of peonies. The palate is juicy and dry, slick and nicely woven with a nice edge to it. Faint spice and orange peel trail flavours on a mouthwatering finish.
