Sandra Oldfield waited 20 years to pull off her icon red, it was released just before the news broke that Tinhorn Creek had been sold to Andrew Peller.
I wasn't a fan of the 2014, but feel the 2015 has really stepped up, maybe with the edition of Cabernet Franc? It is a blend of estate Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Cabernet Franc (20%), Merlot (20%), Malbec (7%) and Petit Verdot (3%); it was then fermented using wild yeasts/selected yeasts and aged 24 months in 40% new oak barrels.
Black currents are woven with sarsaparilla, dried orange peel, figs and toffee aromas. It is smooth and more affable than the 2014; generous fruit, silky tannins and mouthfilling chocolate and vanilla flavours abound. It has impressive posture and length.

Savoury, tangy, textural.
Cabernet Franc and Tinhorn Creek, invariably intertwined.
Always a solid; this vintage doles out tangy red berries, brown spices, roasted bell peppers, fleur de sel and smoked meat aromas. The palate is sweet, smoky and savory as well; wild berries, bittersweet cocoa and spice flavours dominate. It also has great levity and fine textural tannins with a slick finish.
Pair: Grilled sausages or grilled portobello mushrooms with blue cheese, burgers or rich tomato ragu pasta.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Blue Cheese & Cracked Pepper

Cabernet Franc is a true passion for Tinhorn Creek CEO and winemaker Sandra Oldfield and viticulturist Andrew Moon.
The 2011 version is engaging and very fragrant - juicy black raspberries and pepper, violets and smoked spices with tobacco notes. It is fresh and spicy with wonderful acidity that pops forward wild berry, raspberry and plum flavours, which are layered with cocoa and more spice.
Consistently good, but the 2011 is really delicious.
Recommended pairings: grilled sausages or grilled portobello mushrooms, burgers or rich tomato ragu pasta

If there's anyone who really carries a torch for Cabernet Franc, it's Tinhorn Creek alongside winemaker Sandra Oldfield and viticulturist Andrew Moon.
The 2010 offers mixed red and black currents, cocoa, savoury spices, dried herbs and sweet vanilla. The palate follows suit - it has a very pleasing weight and freshness in the mouth and flavours of currents, cocoa and spice mimic the nose. Consistently good.

A perfect example of where modern Chardonnay is going - fresh and clean, not bogged down in heavily toasted oak and confected flavours.
Sweet churned fresh butter, yellow apples, pears, sweet spice and vanilla with Satsuma oranges. It has an appealingly creamy weight with spicy, buttery tones leading to citrusy orange flavours on the finish.
Fresh and wonderfully balanced.
Pair with grilled chicken, white fish or creamy soups or pastas.
