Covert Farms Family Estate Sparkling Pinot Noir, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, fizzy, dry.
Tasted bottle No.854
Covert Farms is a 650-acre, four-generations, family-owned organic farm and winery estate located just north of Oliver. This sparkling Pinot Noir is made in a natural method (method ancestrale), whereby it is put through natural fermentation, bottled, and left to ferment with no intervention. Expect it to be cloudy and have remaining lees as it's unfiltered, then topped with a crown cap.
It's a cloudy peachy-blush and suggests leesy/bread dough aromas woven with tart red berries, green figs, anise, star fruit, tangerine and honey aromas. Dry, tangy and juicy it tastes of green fruits and orange pekoe tea.
Overall, a fresh and satisfying natural wine. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen

Covert Farms Family Estate Sparkling Zinfandel, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Tangy, fizzy, dry.
Tasted bottle No.1069.
Covert Farms is a 650-acre, four-generations, family-owned organic farm and winery estate located just north of Oliver. This sparkling Zin (a rare grape to use for bubbly) is made in a natural method (method ancestrale), whereby it is put through natural fermentation, bottled, and left to ferment with no intervention. It is unfiltered and topped with a crown cap.
As one would expect, it's a cloudy wine that's the palest dusty pink. Aromas of sour cherry, pink grapefruit peel, yogurt, bitter orange, nettle and tealeaf lead to a fizzy palate with plenty of citrus peel, crushed stones and crab apple flavours. Tart, a bit hot, and straightforward; it's a dry sparkling for light summer meals. ©copyright 2021 Daenna Van Mulligen

Covert Farms Family Estate Sparkling Zinfandel, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Snappy, fizzy, dry.
Tasted bottle No.2047.
Covert Farms is a 650-acre, four-generations, family-owned organic and regeneratively farmed farm and winery estate located just north of Oliver. This sparkling Zin (a rare grape to use for bubbly) is made in a natural method (method ancestrale), whereby it is put through natural fermentation, bottled, and left to ferment with no intervention. It is unfiltered and topped with a crown cap.
As one would expect, it's a cloudy wine that's the palest salmony pink. Aromas of orange pekoe tea and tobacco, tart red berries, peach fuzz and hops lead to a zesty palate. It's bone dry, fizzy and not shy with acidity. Flavours of tealeaf and bitter orange stain the palate. Overall bright with a rustic character and tart snappy finish.
