Similkameen Valley DVA

Clos du Soleil 'Signature', British Columbia
Readers rated this wine:
Textural, complex, fresh.
Made from specially selected vineyard blocks in the Similkameen Valley and neighboring South Okanagan Valley. Signature varies each vintage but is generaly comprised of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
This vintage delivers silky aromas of black cherries, wild forest berries, vanilla, dried rose petals, tobacco, oregano and sage. The palate mimics the nose; it is earthy and complex, supple and fresh with textural tannins. The fruit here is more tangy and tart, and is layered with toasted spice, tealeaf and bittersweet chocolate.

Clos du Soleil 'Signature', British Columbia, 2010
Readers rated this wine:

Made from specially selected vineyard blocks in the Similkameen Valley and neighboring South Okanagan Valley, by BC born, international winemaker, Ann Sperling. It is made from 48% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and 9% Malbec and aged for 18 months in French oak.
It deserves the name Signature with its potent sweet chocolate covered cherry aromas, vanilla, purple berries, baking spice, violets, mocha and pepper. The palate is a reflection of the nose - a full-bodied and supple wine with generous sweet berry flavours layered with mocha, vanilla and peppery spices. It has ripe tannins and wonderful length with flavours of coffee trailing across the finish.
Bravo.

Readers rated this wine:
Supple, concentrated, fresh.
Clos du Soleil's flagship estate red is made from three Similkameen vineyards and the 2021 is comprised of: Cabernet Sauvignon (32%), Merlot (34%), Cabernet Franc (18%), Malbec (9%) and Petit Verdot (7%). The wine was aged 16 months in French oak barrels before bottling.
Notes of cherry pipe tobacco, chocolate, vanilla, dried purple flowers and baking spices lead to a supple and fresh palate. It checks the balance and structure boxes nicely and shows notable concentration with a bright and smooth finish.

Readers rated this wine:
Earthy, youthful, muscular.
Clos du Soleil's flagship estate red is made from four Similkameen vineyards and the 2020 is comprised of: Cabernet Sauvignon (33%), Merlot (34%), Cabernet Franc (21%), Malbec (9%) and Petit Verdot (3%). The wine was aged 18 months in French oak barrels before bottling.
Definitely more brooding than the 2019, this 2020 leads with leather and cherry cola then black chocolate, tobacco, graphite, roasted plums, soy sauce and espresso. On the palate pencil shavings, dark chocolate, leather and toasted spice flavours give way to tobacco, cedar and coffee. It's got nice acidity and textural tannins and definitely will benefit from time in bottle.
