Generous, fresh, spiced.
The vineyards of Hester Creek were established in 1968 on what is now the Golden Mile Bench sub-GI. This Old Vine Merlot comes from Block 2 (some of the oldest in the Okanagan), planted in the early 70s.
Following pressing and malolactic fermentation, the wine was barrel aged in mostly French oak (35% of the barrels were new and the remaining were neutral) on fine lees for 18 months.
Fruitcake and vanilla soaked plums, espresso, raspberry jam and chocolate aromas are spiked with clove, cinnamon and licorice. Sweet generous fruit lines the palate and is underscored by coconut and bold clove flavours. It's fresh and approachable red, medium-to-full bodied with good persistence.
Pair: Roast chicken, rack of lamb, warm Camembert, hearty vegetable or bean stews.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Blue Cheese & Cracked Pepper

Modern, generous, approachable.
Made with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, this wine has an intense nose of sarsaparilla, mocha, toasted spices and black berries. It is weighty and modern in the palate as well, an echo of the nose; the oak especially distinct in the mouth.

Modern, generous, oaky.
Made from Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, this scented red doles out vanillin oak, black cherries, mocha and licorice aromas that morph into a palate with generous fruit, along with fine spice and oak flavours. It has grippy tannins, and a bitter finish of tealeaf and charred cocoa.

Modern, plummy, mocha.
A modern Merlot, brimming with plums and licorice, baking spices and mocha aromas. It's medium-full bodied and has liberal vanilla, plums, cloves and cinnamon. If you love a supple oak-y Merlot, this is one for you.

Modern, fresh, fruity.
A modern Merlot, brimming with plum cake and chocolate cherries, licorice, vanilla and baking spices. Spicy and fruity, it has sweet oak and mocha flavours trailing on the finish. It's also medium-full bodied, fresh, and has good length.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Canadian Chedder & Chive
