Laughing Stock Vineyards 'Portfolio', Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Woven, powerful, supple.
Laughing Stock's premium red blend 2019 is comprised of 49% Merlot, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec, and 2% Petit Verdot. It was aged 20 months in French oak, partially new, partially second fill.
This vintage has a fragrant nose of cassis and plum cake, black chocolate and espresso with licorice and spice rub, smoked meat, leather and brown spices. The palate is as potent as the nose, toasted spices, charred plums, leather and vanillin oak. Rich, nicely woven with notable structure and length.

Laughing Stock's premium red is a blend of 45% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, and 3% Petit Verdot. It was aged 21 months in French oak, partially new, partially second fill.
Black currents and black cherry pipe tobacco, vanilla liqueur, baking spices and purple floral aromas lead to a supple palate with generous weight. Oodles of black fruit line the mouth along with molasses, licorice root and dark mocha flavours. Expect ripe but chewy tannins and balanced acidity.

Second Review: November 2021Black earth and chocolate, sage and toasted brown spice aromas rest on a bed of black currents and sweet floral notes. On the palate, spicy black fruits, leather, tobacco and spice flavours dominate; it's supple, nicely woven and elegant. Time in bottle has added harmony.

Laughing Stock Vineyards Chardonnay, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Bright, creamy, balanced.
The grapes for this 2020 Chardonnay were sourced from Okanagan Falls then fermented mostly in oak and a small portion in concrete egg. It saw 9 months of ageing with lees stirring in 86% in barrel with 10% being in concrete egg and 4% in stainless steel.
Warm yellow apple sauce aromas are layered with hazelnuts, grilled lemon, bread dough and liquid honey. Sweet golden fruit, brown spice and vanilla flavours dominate the palate. It is slick and creamy with great balanced and deft use of oak--as seasoning rather than a main ingredient.
