Savoury, fragrant, spiced.
Hester Creek was established in 1968 and the Block 2 Merlot vines (some of the oldest in the Okanagan) were planted in the early 70s.
This vintage, the Block 2 offers notes of cedar and black plums, pencil shavings and baking spices, vanilla, licorice and violets. The tannins and acid are balanced, the oak is notable. Flavours of mocha, spice, leather, and bacon fat dominate the palate.
Pair: Roast chicken, rack of lamb, hearty vegetable or bean stews.
