Piquant, zesty, feisty.
This 76% Sauvignon Blanc and 24% Semillon is a classic Bordeaux blend, but with the California name (fume blanc) given to a lightly oaked version of Sauvignon Blanc, a term coined by Robert Mondavi.
It has a smoky, sweet quality to the nose; peat and peaches, vanilla and cedar, grass clippings and wild herbs are lifted with citrus notes. Snappy and crunchy tree fruits, green apples and lime flavours dominate the palate. It is dry and zesty with lovely weight and concentration. It is both focused and feisty.
Pair: oysters and other seafood, white meats, appetizers or cheese platters.
