Unique, succulent, rich.
Another stunning vintage of the Monte del Fra, which hails from Custoza, only 15km from Lake Garda near Verona. It is a very unique blend of Garganega, Trebbiano Toscano, Tocai Friulano, Cortese, Chardonnay-Riesling Italico-Malvasia and Incrocio Manzoni from a vineyard more than 40 years old.
It's an organoleptic melange of beeswax, lemon oil, lanolin and golden apple turnovers, with a definitive mineral core. The palate is rich and oily; lemon tarts, brioche, and wild fresh herbal flavours lead to a smoky and succulent finish. Overall, good intensity with a finish reminiscent of cognac.
Pair: Oysters, sushi, sashimi, white meats and glazed duck.
