Fragrant, generous, plush.
Located on the Golden Mile Bench sub-GI in Oliver, Hester Creek is one of a small number of wieries that have vineyards under the designation.
The Syrah is sourced from the Golden Mile Bench estate as well as small amounts from growers in Oliver and Osoyoos, so it falls under the Okanagan Valley designation.
The 2020 was co-fermented with 15% Viognier and was aged on fine lees for 14 months in American (60%) and French (40%) oak barrels.
This fragrant Syrah suggests kirsch and violets, licorice, pipe tobacco and cola spices. It has notable intensity and generous cherry-cola, blackberry and mocha flavours. Vanillin oak and cigar trails across the finish. Modern Shiraz-like and quite opulent.
