Classic, bright, distinct
Three generations of the Fortin Family work together in one of BC's newer wineries. It began in 2008 when Rod and Pat Fortin purchased a property in Oliver. Several years later their son and daughter-in-law purchased an adjoining property and then with sons Taylor and Kelsey added more vineyard built the winery and wine shop.
Made from a field blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot the Cross Breed delivers notes of cherry and vanilla, black raspberry and cola spices, star anise and dried roses and cedar chips with undertones of green olives and wild herbs. The plate is bright and juicy and shows notable fruit expression. It has some distinct Old World characteristics and good balance. The finish trails tobacco, dark chocolate, leather and sage flavours.
