Buoyant, purity, transparent.
Harvested from silt and glacial rock and gravel soils in Kaleden, Skaha Lake near Penticton), the organic Cabernet Franc grapes were destemmed and fermented in clay amphorae and large oak vessels. After 8-months on skins the parts were pressed off and blended before being placed in concrete to settle.
White pepper, red cherry and red current aromas are muddled with faint notes of cocoa, cedar, tobacco, wet stone and a splash of mint. Like the nose, the palate shows purity; expressive red fruit is the game here. Medium-bodied and buoyant, balanced and transparent. An approachable wine with seamless tannins.
