Savoury, concentrated, fresh.
Lakeside Cellars is a 14-acre estate on the eastern shore of Lake Osoyoos. It rests on what used to be the Haynes Homestead. Unable to save the existing structure, new owners Harbans and Harkesh Dhaliwal used parts of the historic estate when building their new tasting room in 2016.
This particular wine, a blend of Cabernet Franc (36%), Cabernet Sauvignon (2021%) and Merlot (43%) was aged in neutral French and American oak for 24 months.
Peppery spice aromas are layered with black berries, coffee, salted plums and roasted meat. It has a savoury palate to mimic the nose. Dried fruits and soy, coffee and tobacco with a hint of bacon on the finish. Good freshness and texture.
