Golden, racy, fresh.
Blue Mountain has long been known for their estate grown, traditional method sparkling wines and the value in each bottle--they're widely regarded for making exceptional fizz.
This non-vintage version is made from Pinot Noir (57%), Chardonnay (39%) and Pinot Gris (4%); the grapes were whole cluster pressed and each variety fermented separately. After fermentation the components were blended and inoculated with yeast and fermented a second time in bottle. Post secondary fermentation the wine was aged in bottle sur lie for 24 months. It was disgorged in August of 2020.
A visual of golden glints and tiny beads of bubbles directs you to a nose of wildflower honey, red apple peel, grilled lemon and baking bread aromas. It has complexity and balance and a racy character. Dry with a creamy edge to blanket the on-point acidity, it is a decisive sparkling with lemon curds on fresh toast and sliced yellow apple flavours and the finish just keeps going.
