Complete, supple, enjoyable.
The primary source of grapes for the Max come from the Errazuriz Aconcagua Valley estate, 90 km north of Santiago. It was aged in French oak (30% new) for 12 months for the purpose of malolactic fermentation and ageing.
Expect classic cassis and black raspberry, vanilla, pipe tobacco and brown spice aromas, which are woven with bay leaf, and shaved dark chocolate. The entry is supple, it's a well constructed and balanced wine offering wild berries, toasted spice and carob on the palate. Complete and enjoyable with notable persistence.
Second review: October 5, 2021
Opaque ruby colour with dominant cassis and raspberry aromas woven with licorice, baking spices, pencil shavings and tobacco. The palate is fresh and flavoured with espresso, cherry, powdery cooca and tobacco. It has a classic Cabernet character and fine tannins.
