Woven, powerful, concentrated.
Laughing Stock's premium red is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot (48/32/14/4/2%)that was aged 20 months in French oak barrel (48% new).
Smoked black currents, coffee, pipe tobacco, dark chocolate, black cherries, brown spice, sage and black peppery aromas lead to a concentrated palate. Power and persistence is has a slightly brooding character but is nicely woven and balanced with freshness.
Second Review: November 2021Black earth and chocolate, sage and toasted brown spice aromas rest on a bed of black currents and sweet floral notes. On the palate, spicy black fruits, leather, tobacco and spice flavours dominate; it's supple, nicely woven and elegant. Time in bottle has added harmony.
