Classic, elegant, silky.
Another outstanding Pinot from MFVs, this one is made from grapes grown on the estate’s home McLean Creek Road vineyard in Okanagan Falls, which was originally planted in 1994. The site is comprised of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and some Gewurztraminer, grown on sandy/gravel loams.
It was aged for 11 months in French oak barrels (25% new); natural malolactic fermentation occurred in late spring. In keeping with the estate's hands-off approach in the cellar to allow the true expression of terroir to shine through, the wine is unfined and unfiltered.
Smoked sweet cherries, cocoa, rhubarb, beet greens, savoury spice and wild botanical aromas lead to a silky and bright palate. Raspberry flavours lead the palate, layered with cigar, forest floor and cocoa flavours, which trail on a persistent finish. Classic and elegant, a gorgeous wine.
