Elegant, complex, creamy.
Located in the Cowichan Valley, one of BC's youngest sub-GIs, Unsworth is a boutique winery that was acquired by Barbara Banke and her daughter Julia Jackson (Jackson Family Wines) in the summer of 2020.
This traditional method sparkling is made from equal parts Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir sourced from the Saison Vineyard, Sunnydale Vineyard, and Zanatta Vineyard. It was fermented in French oak and tank then aged on lees for 36 months in tank. Bottled, a brut nature dosage was added and it was aged an additional year prior to release.
Expect aromas of rising bread dough, baked apples. pear chutney, wildflower honey and preserved lemon. The palate mirrors the nose, it has a nutty brioche and mincemeat tart flavours.
Excellent complexity and creaminess from age along with depth and lengthy finish.
