Juicy, joyful, bouncy.
The family vineyards of El Porvenir are located around 5,700 feet above sea level in Tolombon very near Cafayate. The winery was established four decades ago by winery director Lucia Romero-Marcuzzi's grandfather Roberto Romero.
Planted with Tannat and Torrontes (vines now 55 years old) the estate was expanded two decades ago with the addition Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Bonarda.
This 100% Bonarda is a juicy light-bodied red that deserves a chill before serving. A workhorse grape, that was common before Malbec took off, Bonarda is generally used as a blending berry. Grapey aromas are layered with wild cherry, vanilla, and vague notes of earth, fine spice, cocoa and herbs. Light-medium bodied it has a bouncy character and joyful red fruit flavours.
