Covert Farms Family Estate 'Grand Reserve' Chardonnay, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Slick, creamy, fresh.
The family heirloom known as Covert Farms, is a 650-acre multi-functional regeneratively-farmed estate that was established in 1959 at McIntyre Bluff.
2020 marked the first ever Chardonnay ever produced by Covert Farms; the vines, planted in 2007 are rooted in estate glaciofluvial sedimentary soils. This Grand Reserve 2021 was barrel fermented then aged 9 months in French oak. It has a nutty, buttery nose with crunchy yellow apples, honeysuckle, acacia and lemon aromas. Creamy in the mouth it's a juxtaposition of generous and juicy. Slick and beautifully balanced with a nutty, zesty finish. Excellent. ©copyright 2023 Daenna Van Mulligen
