Bodega Y Vinedos Nicolas Catena 'La Marchigiana' Malbec, Mendoza Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Purity, earthy, texture.
Aged eight months in traditional Italian-style clay pots, this Maipu-born Malbec went through a full secondary fermentation and saw zero added sulphites. Dark fruit and berries, cocoa, wild herbs and bitter mocha notes lead to a fresh red-fruit and earthy palate with chew and texture. It's a more medium-bodied wine with nice purity and thoughtfulness. ©copyright 2022 Daenna Van Mulligen

Readers rated this wine:
Spicy, serious, woven.
A joint effort between Nicolas Catena and Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) this woven blend offers spiced plums, blackberry and toasted spices, vanillin oak, espresso and tobacco aromas. The palate is spicy as ell, sweet cherries and black fruit flavours are layered with mocha, smoked meat and balsamic flavours. It's a serious wine with all the structure and balance in check. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen

Consistent, excellent, finessed.
Made by Argentina's pioneering Malbec family, this wine comes from fruit harvested from prestigious Lujan de Cuyo, Tupungato, Maipu and San Carlos vineyards.
Boasting excellent consistency and intensity, this vintage offers that distinct Catena succulence; wild blackberries and red currents, dried violets, grilled herbs, tobacco, bitter chocolate and espresso. Equally savoury on the palate, it has a masculine character, impressive acidity and spice and mocha flavours followed by a long tealeaf finish.
