Wolf Blass 'Yellow Label' Cabernet Sauvignon, South Australia

Second Review: June 2015:
Ripe and chocolaty, peppery spices, eucalyptus very ripe cassis notes and licorice on the nose. The palate is similarly ripe - almost dried fruit alongside fruitcake, with coffee and chocolate. The acidity keep it from being bottom-heavy but it is certainly not as fresh as previously tasted.

September 2013 marked the 30th anniversary of this wine being sold in Canada. You'll notice a new label (with that 30th anniversary nod) on this Canuck favourite.
It has always been a dependable everyday red for grilled meats, burgers, chili or watching the game. Aromas of black currents, black cherry jam, sarsaparilla, baking spices are lifted with minty/eucalyptus notes. It is supple in the mouth with appealing freshness to lift the chocolaty, spicy, black fruit and coffee flavours. The finish is smooth and spicy.

Readers rated this wine:

Classic, approachable, supple.
This classic South Aussie Shiraz offers black cherry and mint, mocha and licorice with a strong wild berry core. It is supple, modern and very gulp-able with good balance overall.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Blue Cheese & Cracked Pepper
