Supple, fleshy, substantial.
The Hess family emblem is the lion, which adorns each bottle of Hess wine. The company was established by Swiss businessman and art collector Donald Hess, who also owns wineries in other parts of the world.
A consistently pleasing and forward wine the 2018 does not disappoint.
Preserved cherries and cassis aromas are woven with chocolate, pipe tobacco, vanilla liqueur, sweet brown spices and wet earth. The palate has a liqueur-like quality as well, a plush weight, generous sweet fruit and cola spice flavours stand out. It has good freshness to balance all the volume and a long tobacco-laced finish.

Mocha, plush, woven.
Plump and boisterous with chocolaty flavours wrapped in cassis, fresh plummy notes, baking spices, tobacco and leather. A similarly chocolaty palate is also juicy and well-woven with seamless integration of flavours. Stylish overall, a fresh yet plush offering.

Supple, fleshy, approachable.
A consistently pleasing and jammy Cab, the 2017 version doles out sweet cassis and plush chocolate, baking spices, licorice and minty aromas. It's a fleshy wine with flavours of spiced cocoa, purple berries, vanilla; supple and smooth it has good length.
Approachable, international and perfect for spicy BBQ.

Unapologetic, luscious, creamy.
An unapologetic Chardonnay-lovers Chardy, it has aromas of butterscotch pudding, pineapple chunks, vanilla, honey and baking spices. The palate is equally demonstrative with plush butter, spice and caramel liqueur flavours. It is smooth, seductively sweet and lengthy.
Pair with roasted chicken, creamy corn chowder, smoked cheddar and creamy pastas.
