C.C Jentsch Cellars 'The Chase', Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Succulent, brooding, handsome. Located south of Oliver on the way to Osoyoos, the family owners of CC Jentsch have been fruit growers in the Okanagan since the late 1920s. The Chase is a blend of Cabernet and Cabernet Sauvignon with Petit Verdot, Merlot and Malbec. It's a handsome wine, which offers wild fresh berries, smoked plums,
leather, toasted spices, cocoa, sage and tomato leaf aromas. It is succulent and supple, almost brooding in character, with roasted espresso beans, dark chocolate and mixed spice flavours. Good overall balance here, a serious red.
Pair: BBQ, grilled meats, roasted portobello mushroom ravioli and hard cheeses.

C.C Jentsch Cellars 'The Chase', Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Berry, sarsaparilla, chocolate. Located south of Oliver on the way to Osoyoos, C.C Jentsch wines recently crossed my desk. It was the first I had heard of this new label. There's little information on their slick website, but the family has been fruit growers in the Okanagan since the late 1920s. The Chase is a blend of equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. It's a very approachable wine, which offers black cherry, smoked plums, wild berries, spice cake, sarsaparilla, leather, dried sage and vanilla. Expect good concentration and a liqueur-like character. Mocha, sweet spices, tobacco and licorice flavours make for an easy-drinking wine.
Pair: BBQ, sticky ribs, chili, hearty pastas. ©copyright 2014 Daenna Van Mulligen

C.C Jentsch Cellars Viognier, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Luscious, opulent, exotic. Located south of Oliver on the way to Osoyoos, C.C Jentsch wines recently crossed my desk. It was the first I had heard of this new label. There's little information on their slick website, but the family has been fruit growers in the Okanagan since the late 1920s. I was heartily enthused with this Viognier and its luscious nose of ginger biscuits slathered in honey, lime zest, lemon curd, dried mango slices, orange blossoms and exotic spices. It is concentrated yet exceedingly fresh and opulent. The palate is all about peaches and honey with enough spice to add kick. Wonderfully weighted and persistent.
Pair with Moroccan cuisine, richly flavoured fish, or squash ravioli. ©copyright 2017 Daenna Van Mulligen
