Silky, woven, harmonious.
From the Pedernal Valley in San Juan in Mendoza province, this wine comes from vines grown at 1350m above sea level, it's been a few vintages since I've had this wine, and it's still as wonderful as ever.
The nose is fresh and scented with liberal black current, pipe tobacco, chocolate, toasted spices and vanilla. Like the nose the palate is velvety. It has a silky entry and lively purple fruit flavours underscored by spice. Woven and harmonious with a chocolaty finish.
Pair: Grilled meats and sausages, wild mushroom ravioli, hard cheeses.
