Kono Pinot Noir, South Island, New Zealand
Readers rated this wine:
NEW, fresh, tangy.
This new Kiwi Pinot is tangy; notes of cocoa, wild red berries, cherries, tealeaf, cedar chips and rainforest floor lead to an equally juicy palate. High-toned red and purple berries, fine spice and hints of oak tannins line the palate. It is fresh and straightforward. Kono Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
Readers rated this wine:
Value, snappy, quaffable.
Serious value and seriously tasty, this snappy Savvy is made by New Zealand's first Maori owned winery, Tohu, which was established in 1998. In Maori, Tohu means sign or signature. In all, the company produces not only Tohu, Kono and Aronui wines, but farms Kono mussels and makes fruit bars and Tutu cider. They hold firm to the core value that love for the land and respect for the sea must be ever present; to prosper, the environment must be well and healthy, full of life and vitality.
The 2019 Kono is as lively as always; peach and crunchy green apples aromas are layered with elderflower, lime and snap peas. Quaffable and tangy and flavoured with gooseberry, citrus and passionfruit, this is a lip-smacking white that will put a smile on your face. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen

Kono Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
Readers rated this wine:
Value, delicious, lip-smacking.
Serious value and seriously tasty, this snappy Savvy is made by New Zealand's first Maori owned winery, Tohu, which was established in 1998. In Maori, Tohu means sign or signature. In all, the company produces not only Tohu and Kono wines (made from vines in Nelson and Marlborough), but farms Kono mussels and makes fruit bars and Tutu cider. They hold firm to the core value that love for the land and respect for the sea must be ever present; to prosper, the environment must be well and healthy, full of life and vitality.
The 2020 is as bright as expected. Expect vibrant aromas of honey and passionfruit, peach, elderflower, lime, snap peas, green apples, pineapple chunks and orange blossoms. It's zesty and pristine; peach and lime flavours dominate. It has a lip-smacking character and zesty finish. Deliciously easy to drink.
