Marotti Campi 'Luzano' Verdicchio del Castelli di Jesi, DOC Morro d'Alba Marche Italy, 2011
Readers rated this wine:
Hailing from the Adriatic region of Marche on Italy's eastern coast, the Luzano has found it's way onto my annual TOP 100 list more than once. It's a stylish and succulent wine with creamy aromas of stone fruit, marzipan, honeycomb and caramel atop mineral and savoury notes. That lush honey and nutty character reappears on the palate, it has a slick oily weight and texture and a long zesty finish. Pair with fish, creamy pastas, white meat courses and appetizers.

Marotti Campi 'Orgiolo' Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Superiore DOC, Marche Italy
Readers rated this wine:
Captivating, unique, perfumed.
A captivating and truly unique wine made from a rare variety of mysterious origins. The production of this Lacrima variety is limited to the DOC Morro d'Alba, in the seaside province of Ancona in Marche. Extremely perfumed with roses and lilacs, star anise, blueberry and raspberry atop mocha and vanilla. It has a seductively smooth entry before it grows more textural on the palate. It is redolent in summer berries, purple fruits, flowers and finally espresso. Excellent posture and intensity with good persistence. ©copyright 2015 Daenna Van Mulligen
