Charles Smith 'CS Substance' Cabernet Sauvignon, Washington State
Readers rated this wine:
Satisfying, strapping, velvety.
The CS Substance Cabernet Sauvignon is made from Columbia Valley fruit and was aged on lees for 11 months in French oak, 50% new.
It's fruity and flamboyant with velvety cassis and cherry aromas woven with lavender, licorice, rich dark coffee and a splash of mint. It's a strapping red with similar flavours of mocha, salted licorice, leather, pipe tobacco and brown spices.
Deeply satisfying and approachable.

Charles Smith 'Kungfu Girl' Riesling, Washington State USA
Readers rated this wine:
Tangy, zesty, effusive.
Fun and fresh and off-dry, this popular Washington State Riesling has quite a following. Expect aromas apricots and crunchy green apples, honey, lime with orange blossom water. It is also effusive and lip-smacking and entirely quaffable. Great acidity helps cleanse the palate and it has a lengthy finish.

Charles Smith Wines 'Boom Boom' Syrah, Washington State
Readers rated this wine:
Ripe, supple, savoury.
Smoked and meaty, with savoury spice aromas woven deftly with espresso powder, cocoa and freshly picked blackberries. It is supple on the tongue with a generosity of ripe fruit layered with mocha, molasses, toffee and spice. Solid wine, seems slightly riper than the previous vintage I tasted.

Charles Smith Wines 'Eve' Chardonnay, Columbia Valley Washington State
Readers rated this wine:
Buttery, persistent, creamy.
No shy Chardy here. Fresh and crunchy yellow fruits, caramels and citrus, nuts and baking spice lead to a palate that is sweet and buttery; similarly nutty and spicy in the mouth is has a creamy edge and a bite of citrus. Good overall weight and persistence.
Pair:squash ravioli, cornbread, shellfish, roasted chicken
