Luigi Bosca Malbec, Mendoza Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Substantial, brooding, muscular.
There is an awesome new label on this wine, very elegant (but not shown in this photo). The wine itself is brooding and intense; espresso, wild berry preserves, peppery spices, grilled meat and charred herbs with leather and tobacco undertones. It is a powerful wine, well represented by its label, it has a muscular character and leans more into the red berry profile on the palate. Substantial and intense but balanced.
Pair: grilled or roasted meats, mushroom and thyme stuffed ravioli.

Luigi Bosca Malbec, Mendoza Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Expressive, outstanding, concentrated.
An outstanding vintage on this wine, it's much more expressive than the previous one. Expect sweet cherry and blackberry compote, vanilla, licorice, baking spices, mocha and earthy/herbal undertones. It is lively and concentrated, juicy and generous. Overall, great balance and elegance.
Pair: grilled or roasted meats, mushroom and thyme stuffed ravioli.

Luigi Bosca Malbec, Mendoza Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Fleshy, supple, generous.
Made by the Arizu family, which has been producing wine for 120 years, this consistently good inky-ruby Malbec leads with purple berries and brown spice woven with leather, cocoa nibs and balsamic notes. Bright generous berry flavours are layered with spice, wild herbs and mocha. Fleshy, supple and approachable
Pair: grilled or roasted meats, mushroom and thyme stuffed ravioli. Pairs great with Gone Crackers Parmesan & Rosemary ©copyright 2022 Daenna Van Mulligen

Luigi Bosca Single Vineyard Malbec, DOC Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Savoury, sturdy, lengthy.
With its awesome new label, this single vineyard offering from Luigi Bosca grabs attention, equally, from the terms Single Vineyard and D.O.C printed upon it. New to me, the appellation of Lujan de Cuyo has had a protected and controlled denomination of origin board, which was established in 1989 as the first D.O.C in the Americas. Of course, rules and guidelines within the zone must also be followed to earn the right to demonstrate it on a label. This wine also happened to earn a coveted TOP 100 of 2015 in Wine Spectator. Anticipate aromas of muddled cherries and wild summer berries, roasted herbs, violets, espresso and spiced dark cocoa. It is a savoury version, well-woven and sturdy. The finish is lengthy and trails, cocoa nibs, espresso and spice, its structure carved out by fine and firm tannins.
Pair: grilled or roasted meats, mushroom and thyme stuffed ravioli.

Nautilus Estate Chardonnay, Marlborough, New Zealand
Readers rated this wine:
Gorgeous, seamless, elegant.
While our beloved Sauvignon Blanc might be the heart of Marlborough, it's certainly not the only variety to take root in the region. This outstanding Chardy was born of one of the warmest seasons on record but careful vineyard management ensured balance in this gorgeous wine. It was barrel fermented with native yeasts and matured in French oak barrique (20% new) with lees stirring to add texture. It presents bright golden fruits, wildflower honey and lemons with undertones of roasted nuts and savoury spices. Notable here, the deft use of oak, a seasoning rather than a clumsy thwack of wood in the mouth, and the creamy and mouthfilling yet lively character. Elegant and seamless, it is a delight to drink and the bottom of the bottle arrives too soon. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen
