The Bend in the River Riesling, Rheinhessen Germany
Readers rated this wine:
Juicy, straightforward, tangy.
A simple but fresh Riesling qualitatswein at 9.5% alcohol with aromas of apple jelly, yellow apples, citrus and honey. On the palate expect sweet juice, with flavours of peaches and honey, which culminate in a tangy finish. Chill and pair with spicy dishes. Trapiche 'Medalla' Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Harmonious, fragrant, generous.
Made from grapes grow in Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu in Mendoza province, this outstanding Malbec was aged 12 months in new French oak barrels and delivers pretty aromas of sweet black raspberry, smoked cedar chips, vanilla, licorice, mocha, patchouli and dried roses. Generous purple fruits are layered with brown spice, tealeaf and earthy flavours. Powerful yet elegant, harmonious and persistent but definitely some heat on the finish. Loads of life left on this wine even with five years on it. ©copyright 2021 Daenna Van Mulligen

Trapiche 'Selected Vineyards' Reserve Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
Value, fresh, spiced.
Made to pair with Argentine asado (grill), this high-altitude oak-aged Malbec delivers red plums and cherrie, wild herbs and tobacco, fine spice, leather and vanilla aromas. It's not as full-bodied as I recall from previous vintages but remains fresh and laden with juicy red fruit, spice and teleaf flavours. It is medium-bodied, trails dark cocoa flavours and the tannins are chalky.

Trapiche 'Terroir Series~Finca Ambrosia' Malbec, Gualtallary, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
This single vineyard Terroir Series comes from a site in the high Uco Valley, sitting at 1300 m.a.s.l and like its name suggests, it is ambrosial. Fragrant cedar chips and dried violets create a potpourri of aromas; purple fruit, charred licorice root, bacon fat and baking spices round out the nose. It is big and bold, spicy and meaty. Lively acidity balances the lingering chewy tannins and the finish is extensive, trailing bittersweet cocoa.
A wine for grilled meats, hearty stews, or roasted mushroom sauces.

Approachable, savoury, fresh.
Smoky, earthy and approachable, this well-priced red doles out wild berries, coffee and spiced notes. It is fresh in the mouth, balanced and medium-bodied with a soft mid-palate. It expresses savoury flavours and has a smooth decently long finish.
