Bartier Bros. 'The Orchard Row', Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Smooth, fresh, harmonious.
Made from Pinot Noir, Gamay, Cabernet Franc and Merlot from Bartier's estate Cerquiera Vineyard this blend was aged 15 months in neutral oak barrels. Exuberant sweet cherry and purple berries are layered with aromas of sweet spice (notably star anise) and violets. A bouncy yet harmonious palate delivers oodles of fresh juicy berry flavours that morph into spice, candied violets and pipe tobacco. A lovely red that is perfect with a slight chill to really make that fruit pop more.

Bartier Bros. Brut, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Generous, classic, mouthwatering.
Bartier Bros. first sparkling wine release, this traditionally made brut, a blanc de blanc, is made entirely from Chardonnay. The initial vintage was 2019 and portions of each vintage are held back to create future releases. It was aged in stainless steel for 4 months then in barrel for 12 months. It was disgorged in late 2022 and features classic brut characteristics of warm yellow apples and wild honey, lemon brioche, dried quince and churned butter. It has a mouthfilling and generous palate with yellow fruits, toast and dried pear and pineapple flavours. It's creamy but has notable tension. Bravo. ©copyright 2023 Daenna Van Mulligen
