Hailing from the vineyards of Castiglioni in Tuscany this Chianti (made from 85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot) is brimming with rustic aromas of cherry, red berries, herbs, fresh earth, tar and wet leather. The flavours are bright dark berry fruit on the entry followed with pepper and mixed spice and dusty tannins and sour cherry on the finish.
Great for tomato-sauce based dishes.
