Mission Hill Rose, Okanagan Valley BC, 2007
Readers rated this wine:
This newly released (and first time ever made) rose combines Pinot Noir and Merlot grapes to give it tart red fruit and a soft backbone.
The colour makes my mouth water - a brilliant cranberry hue with bright aromas of cranberry, raspberry, orange peel, sweet spices and citrus. Crisp and fresh showing summer berries and peach skin flavours, vanilla and spice with a hint of tobacco on the tail end. It has just a suggestion of sweetness but loads of fresh acidity to balance pair with harvest dishes, white meat and cheeses.
