Made in a traditional, regional style of re-fermenting grapes from already made Amarone, in order to achieve a richness and concentration to a second wine - in this case the Tomassi "Ripasso".
The aromas are expectedly sweet - dried cherries and plum, spicecake and brown spices, chocolate and vanilla. It's a substantial wine with supple chocolate covered cherry, roasted espresso, dates and figs and spicebox flavours. It is smooth with a seductive weight and leaves the impression of chewiness in the mouth.
Pair with rich slow roasted meat dishes or finish with strong, hard cheeses or dark chocolate.
