Luscious, levity, supple.
The province of Benevento (also the name of the city) in Campania is home to Fontanavecchia. It is a landlocked place northeast of Naples, where vines have long been cultivated. Fontanavecchia was established in the early 1900s by the Rillo family, who continue to manage it.
This gorgeous Falanghina, grown at 350 m.a.s.l in argillaceous soils with lime-rich marlstone outcrops in the Sannio hills north of Naples (it straddles the Avellino and Benevento provinces), this fresh wine was aged only in stainless steel.
Pineapple, melon and peach are underscored by honeysuckle and limoncello aromas. Luscious, harmonious and a supple oily weight it also has wonderful levity and persistence.
