Quails' Gate 'The Allison', Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Serious, fragrant, impressive.
Made from Syrah and Cabernet Franc that was aged 20 months in neutral oak barrels, this new addition to the Quails' Gate portfolio is named after a log cabin on the estate, which was built by the first European settlers on the western bank of Lake Okanagan in 1873, John and Susan Allison.Pretty aromas of purple berries and botanical, baking spice and plums, vanilla, cedar chips and mocha, lead to a juicy palate entry. A serious Cab Franc with impressive structure and grippy tannins that boasts a long dark chocolate finish. Decant if enjoying now, or cellar for a couple years. ©copyright 2019 Daenna Van Mulligen
