Gerard Bertrand 'Orange Gold', France
Readers rated this wine:
Ancient, slick, singular.
This singular orange organic wine is inspired by the sun and sea and those first 'orange' wines made dome 4500 years ago in Georgia; it's made from Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Marsanne, Mauzac, Muscat and Clairette. Notes of honey and orange pekoe tea, quince jelly, apricot sorbet and chamomile lead to a palate of bitter orange, tealeaf, dried apricots and arugula flavours. It's a clean wine with a slick texture and notable persistence.
