Harper's Trail Pinot Noir Nouveau, British Columbia
Readers rated this wine:
Tangy, dry, juicy.
The original member of the Kamloops Wine Trail, Harper's Trail has been doing delicious things with estate Riesling and Pinot Noir (among others) grown on the southern banks of the Thompson River for more than a decade.
This is a Pinot Noir that went through carbonic maceration and is a new addition to the Harper's Trail portfolio. A rusty-salmon hue, it leads with wild berries and pomegranate tea, wildflowers and pink peppercorns, orange blossoms and fine spice. Juicy and dry it is a more restrained wine with forest floor, leather, crab-apples and cherry flavours. Light-medium bodied, it's a tangy new addition.
