Chateau St. Jean Cabernet Sauvignon, California
Readers rated this wine:
Classic, balanced, fragrant.
Chateau St. Jean was a family winery established in 1973 in Sonoma. Made to be an acsessible red, this one was blended from sites on the North and Central Coasts and it was aged in French and American oak for 8 months before bottling. Plum pudding and cassis, dark chocolate and espresso, toasted spice and pencil shavings are lifted with a whiff of mint. Supple on the entry it delivers generous purple fruit, savoury spices, leather, vanilla and mint flavours. Good posture ad balance but also very approachable. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen
