Road 13 Cabernet Sauvignon, Similkameen Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Classic, fresh, polished.
The Golden Mile-based Road 13 makes this classically styled Cabernet Sauvignon from grapes sourced mostly from the Similkameen Valley and a small portion from their Okanagan vineyards. The components were fermented and aged separately in 25% new oak for 16 months before blending and bottling. A nose of kirsch and cassis, vanilla pods and pencil shavings, toasted spice, bitter chocolate, parched earth and dried wild herbs leads to a fresh palate with good structure. Black current flavours are woven with plums, chalky cocoa, savoury spices and wild herbs. It has present but polished tannins. ©copyright 2021 Daenna Van Mulligen
