Bartier Bros. Cabernet Franc, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Juicy, savoury, honest.
Without doubt, Michael Bartier is one of British Columbia's most talented and humble winemakers. His style in not opulent or powerful, it is honest; he trusts the site and the fruit to dictate the wine. This wine comes from fruit grown on the Black Sage gravel bar in the Cerqueira Vineyard is unfined and fermented with native yeasts.
It is juicy; red berries, brown spices, tobacco, vanilla and cocoa lead the nose. On the palate, equally bouncy red fruit is buoyed by the wine's weight and intensity. Chalky espresso tannins and spice trail across the finish. Excellent structure and length with a notable savoury character. ©copyright 2018 Daenna Van Mulligen
