Moon Curser 'Dead of Night', Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Potent, expressive, plush.
Moon Curser is named for gold-smugglers trying to cross the Canada, U.S. border under the cover of darkness during the gold rush era. Often the brightness of the moon would foil their plans and they would be caught in their illegal activities. The Dead of Night is a blend of Tannat (Madiran's tannic red grape variety) and Syrah, both from the South Okanagan.
Rich and chocolaty with kirsch, sarsaparilla, toffee and mocha aromas, which rolls into a plush and potent, spicy and generous palate. It is an opulent wine, modern but well structured. Delicious.
