Yalumba 'Samuel's Collection' Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia
Readers rated this wine:
Plush, supple, lengthy.
Australia's oldest family-owned winery (now at 170 years) makes a fantastic selection of wines, including this Barossa Valley Shiraz under a new label called Samuel's Collection. 2017 was a cool year in the Barossa with a longer hang time for the grapes. The result is a plush nose of ripe blueberries, mulberry and rose petals, leather and muddled earth. It's nice woven albeit a bit brooding still; peppery spices, cocoa and wild berry flavours dominate. Supple and lengthy. ©copyright 2020 Daenna Van Mulligen
